Jake Velleman is a NYC-based special events, travel, and government operations professional. He has served two U.S. presidents and countless presidential candidates as an expert of political stagecraft, and has executed large-scale events and missions around the world. Most recently, Jake traveled the United States on the campaign advance teams of Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Cory Booker, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and Tom Steyer. In years prior, he traveled on behalf of Pres. Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Pres. Bill Clinton, and Sec. Hillary Clinton in both official and political roles. Earlier in his political career, Jake was LGBT Caucus Chair of the College Democrats of America, where he trained hundreds of students in community organizing and advocacy.
In between election cycles, Jake has worked in the Jewish Federation system, first as Director of Outreach in Milwaukee and later as Overseas Missions Executive at UJA-Federation of New York (where he staffed UJA's first ever Pride Mission to Cuba). Prior to his federation work, Jake was a Birthright Israel program professional in both the U.S. and Israel, and has staffed a record 39 trips for the organization (including two LGBTQ+ trips). Jake is an avid hiker, traveler, and paddler, and is actively involved with a number of national and NYC-based Jewish and LGBTQ community and advocacy organizations. He holds U.S., U.K., and Israeli citizenship.
