Lady SinAGaga was born Moshiel Newman Daphna in Long Island, New York. Moshiel is one of triplets and was raised in a strictly orthodox household, culminating in three years of yeshiva (theological seminary) in Israel. Concurrently battling his identity of being gay and his religious identity, he used substances as a coping mechanism.
Leaving Rabbinic school for Rehab he started his road to recovery, and is proud to have 7.5 years of sobriety under his rhinestone belt. At the School of Visual Arts Moshiel created his drag persona Lady SinAGaga to “be the person he needed to see growing up,” a proud, fierce, Jewish and Queer individual.
Over the last few years Moshiel has taken Lady around the world, to bars, clubs, winning crowns at pageants, and most importantly for him teaching and inspiring Jewish youth around the country. Spreading love and light and Stars of David - Drag’s Jewish American Princess.
