Matt Nosanchuk is the President and Co-founder of the New York Jewish Agenda, a new voice for liberal Jews in New York City and State who are committed to putting their values into action. He previously served as President Obama’s liaison to the American Jewish Community and was a member of the National Security Council staff. He also was the point person on LGBTQ issues in the Secretary’s Office of Religion and Global Affairs at the Department of State and in the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, and served as the point person on LGBT issues for both offices.



Highlights of his service include his work at DOJ and DHS to advance LGBTQ civil rights, including marriage equality, which earned him the Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award and the American Bar Association’s inaugural Stonewall Award. Earlier in his career, he was a Skadden Fellow working on HIV/AIDS and LGBTQ civil rights issues at the ACLU of Illinois. Matt taught Sexual Orientation and the Law as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center and attended college and law school at Stanford University, where he was a Truman Scholar.
